Piercing Care for Oral Piercings:
When it comes to tongue and labret piercings it’s all about keeping your mouth clean. Rinse your mouth with alcohol-free mouthwash every couple hours or anytime you eat/drink/smoke. Brush your teeth a twice a day and be sure to carefully brush your tongue as well. Do a thorough sea salt rinse, one teaspoon per glass, once a day. Tongue piercings can be very uncomfortable. You can expect swelling and mild soreness for 3 to 5 days. Anthony’s Body Piercing recommends a return visit one to two weeks after piercing to downsize to a smaller barbell (and plastic balls for tooth health). For lip piercings, also follow the healing procedure below.

Piercing care:

A thorough antibacterial soap cleansing is needed everyday, along with a thorough rinse. In a shot glass, use a solution of a half teaspoon of sea salt in warm water and soak the piercing for a few minutes 2-3 times each day.
Important Rules to follow:

-
Only touch the piercing when cleaning and make sure your hands are always clean when handling your piercing.
-
Do NOT rotate your new piercing. This encourages unnessisary handling and causes irritation.
-
If you think you have an infection, contact your piercer or a physician immediately.
